Frequently asked questions

At the moment we remain totally open minded on the type of development that would be considered at Top Field. The priority is for development that can be accommodated on a portion of the site whilst providing the new stadium and community facilities on the remaining section of the Top Field site.

We have sought expressions of interest from both residential and commercial developers. Following our first announcement we have also had several other enquiries about alternative development types including additional sports facilities.

We have asked for expressions of interest by the end of September 2025, and we will then spend time evaluating each proposal, including detailed discussions with developers, and will report back after this.

The ground and facilities are maintained as well as they can be but every structure experiences wear and tear and degrades over time. Some of the facilities at Top Field are nearing 100 years old and their replacement is the only feasible option. This provides the opportunity for us to consider how we can significantly upgrade the facility both for sporting and community use.

Any proceeds from the sale of a parcel of land at Top Field will be recycled into development of the stadium and community facilities. The Trust would essentially be exchanging land assets for built assets.

We will be providing updates prior to any planning application being submitted. If and when the time comes for planning applications they will be submitted to NHC through the usual channels and comments can be provided by the public, interested parties, and statutory consultees.
